Importance of Yoga Postures - also suitable in the office
Yogic postures keep both body and mind healthy. Daily practice of only 10 - 15 minutes will reduce muscular and nervous tensions, rectify and improve the digestive system, remove lethargy and laziness and keeps one active and efficient throughout the day. When the body and mind are light and free from tension, one can do more physical and mental work!!
Through a few practices the digestive system, respiratory system, the spinal cord, all the subtle nerves and the dormant glands begin to function normally and in order - which quite often through prolonged sitting and not balanced life style, they don't.

Stand with feet about shoulder width apart and the arms by the sides to start with. Take a deep breath in while raising the arms to shoulder level. Breathe out and twist the body to the left. Bring the right hand on the left shoulder and wrap the left arm around the back and bring it to the waist. Look over the left shoulder as far as possible.Keep the back of the neck straight. Hold the breath for a moment and accentuate the twist trying to gently stretch the abdomen. Inhale and return to the starting position. Repeat on the other side. Repeat at least 3 times on each side.
