Prevention of RSI, CTS and Frozen Sholder (Part2)
Do you show signs of CTD?? CTD stands for Cumulative Stress Disorder and refers to work related disorders involving the back, neck and upper limbs. Over 30% or our workforce is at risk of developing CTD. This is one of the corporate-seated (chair)-Yoga moves we do as part of our corporate/workplace work-life-balance Yoga programs: 1. Shoulder socket rotation:
Sit with your feet flat on the floor, the body is upright and straight. The back is straight, not arched. Place your fingers loosely on top of your shoulders and let the elbows describe big circles. Start with bringing the elbows in front of the body together, breathe in moving elbows up so they point to the ceiling and then on the out-breath move elbows backward and down - they touch in front of the body again. Repeat this at least 4 times forward and 4 times backward every 2 hours if you are sitting in front the computer most of the day.
And remember your EYES!!!
2. Every half hour turn away from the computer screen and look at a fixed point in the far distance on eye level you can focus on clearly (while you inhale) and then focus/look at a closer point as you exhale.
