FOR HOME AND AT WORK:

Tip 1 for 2012:

If we want brain health throughout life WE HAVE TO DRINK ENOUGH WATER EVERY DAY!!

Not drinking enough water - minimum of 2-3 liters per day,  means that body fluids fall below a certain level and the physiology begins to enter a toxic state. This throws off our vital electrolyte balance and eventually the balance of brain chemistry.

PostHeaderIcon Increase Vitality, Decrease Stress

This time of the year most of us are getting a bit overwhelmed by all the things we want to do before Christmas, before the end of the year approaches us!! Quite often we feel that there is too much to do in a short period of time which makes us feel stressed and we don't enjoy the time between now and Christmas much - sometimes it seems a time of the year to just get through... That's what I hear quite often from people, which made me think of tips I can give on how to create balance in this time of year, increasing vitality, productivity, a healthy friendly workplace as well as decreasing stress. This makes us, the workplace and people around us happier which results in better decision making skills at work and at home.

At your computer desk think of sideways stretching, lengthening the hamstrings and back.

And remember to give your eyes a rest!!!

It is always the three things from the yogic point of view: balance and stretch the body, balance the breath and practice relaxation. All that and more - like beautiful fresh organic food, fresh air and great company - is what is there for you on our last weekend retreat this year: 25th - 27th of November in the Ecolodge in the Glass House Mountains. http://yoga-health-retreats.com/

PostHeaderIcon Management of stress at work 1

What is stress at work? - There are many factors involved when we experience stress and it is different from person to person. BUT the effects are the same: we feel out of balance: mentally and physically and if we don't learn how to reduce stress at work and instead accumulate more stress, our immune system gets weak and we need time off work.

PostHeaderIcon About Carpel Tunnel Syndrome

Did you know that 3 times more women than men get Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.  Between your thumb and pinky is something called the Carpal Tunnel, which goes over your critical Median Nerve that goes into fingers 2 through 4.  There is another nerve on top that runs to your thumb and your pinky finger.  If you feel tingling in your fingertips, it can be a sign of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

If you have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or you want to help prevent it, relax your tendon by pushing your palms against one another in the classic “prayer pose" or/and do the "finger moves"from the Pawanmuktasana series: spreading fingers then making fist with thumb inside, wrist bending and wrist rotation.

Have fun and smile a lot!!
